About the event
Come along and join us for this free, exciting and hands-on workshop by Connected Planet Foundation, run by our amazing environmental educator, Kevin and hosted by the Wilde Brunch Cafe, who will be serving delicious food and drinks throughout.
Birds can lose up to 10% of their body fat in a single night trying to keep warm during the winter months. This workshop will help to conserve local bird species by making a variety of different types of fat balls, along with a wooden fat ball holder, that you can take home with you to hang out for the wild birds to feed on. As well as making the feed and feeders, we will also be learning how to identify local bird species so that you know what is landing on your feeder this winter.
All are welcome in this family-friendly event, that we hope will empower young people to enage in the conservation of our natural world. Everyone can make a difference to our planet and it can be as simple as making sure our native birds don't go hungry this winter.Â
Connected Planet will provide all of the ingredients, all of which will be fully plant-based.
If you can, please bring the following items, however we will have spares if this is not possible.Â
1) A mixing bowl of some sort.
2) some empty yoghurt, pots, or small containers.
3) some strong string.
Amazing food and drink served at the cafe so please don't bring your own.Â
So please come along and don’t miss out on this opportunity , with your support we will be helping our wild birds to survive over the cold winter months.
